Specialists in Solar Rooftop Solutions

Solar Rooftop in Chandigarh Region for Homes, Apartments, Commercial, Industries, Schools & Hospitals. We provide customized solutions with the latest technology. Based on the site conditions it can be Solar On-Grid, Hybrid, Off-Grid or Water Pump system. Customized solutions are designed for different types of rooftops with different orientations too.

Solar On-Grid rooftop system

The On-grid system is connected to a utility grid and this system would work only if the grid is available. In case of a power cut, the system will not work and hence the On-grid system is also termed a Grid-tied system. A grid is required since the inverter needs to be provided a reference voltage and the inverter needs to sync with the grid to export energy back into the grid.

On-grid systems make sense for locations with no daytime power cut or with lesser daytime power cut. This type of system is apt for reducing your electricity bills since it is cheaper than a battery-based system and there is no recurring cost of replacement of components.
Solar PV system generation

Working On-Grid Solar PV System:

Once solar generation starts, the generated energy is first consumed by the loads. Once the load requirement is satisfied, the remaining energy will be exported to the grid. Grid by itself acts as a virtual battery taking in all the excess energy that has been exported. This is known as the banking of energy.

During the night, when there is no solar, the loads can import the banked energy. Similarly, when there is less generation from solar due to cloudy conditions, the required energy is imported from the grid. At the end of every billing cycle, the export and import billing will be calculated and this net will be calculated with the help of a Bi-directional meter.

Hybrid Solar PV System
Hybrid inverters charge the batteries using solar power during daylight. If the battery goes low, or during insufficient lighting, they charge the batteries from the Grid. These systems automatically switch between solar power and the Grid.

This is a great way of replacing polluting diesel generators. Your electricity bill will be reduced and your diesel bill will be eliminated.

Off-Grid PV System
In places where the grid availability is zero or where there are high instances of a power cut, Off-grid systems are an apt solution for relief from power cuts and they can be installed with a standalone inverter with a separate or integrated charge controller.

If the off-grid system is designed with appropriate solar panels and batteries, it can supply power throughout the year without ever relying on grid power. If the system is under-designed then the battery is always in very low status.

Working of Solar Water Pump

Solar water pumps are like conventional water pumps except that they are run on solar energy. It can be a completely independent system without any other source or can be backed by another source like a grid.

Solar Water Pumps are systems that pump water from a water source depending on the intensity of sunlight falling on the solar panels. In this system, the light falling on the solar panels gets converted to electricity and in turn, this electricity runs a motor to pump water from a water body. With the increase in the intensity of the sunlight during the daytime, the amount of electricity produced also increases. This in turn increases the output of the water pump.

The major differentiating factor about solar water pumps from other solar PV systems is that this does not necessarily require another source of power(grid connection or battery backup) for their operation.

Broadly categorizing, solar water pumps can be of two types:
DC pumps
AC pumps
This classification is based on the type of pump that is used. In the case of AC pumps, a variable frequency drive(VFD) needs to be used for converting the DC from solar to AC for the pump’s requirement.
The advantage of solar water pumps is that they can work independently of the grid supply and these are complementary to the water requirement. On cloudy and rainy days, when the water is pumped from the bore well reduces(due to lesser intense sunlight), the requirement for water is also generally lesser.
Apart from the major use of solar water pumps for irrigation purposes, these systems are also used for sanitation and drinking water purposes.
The biggest advantage of solar water pumps is that they can provide a reliable supply of water independent of any power source, which is one of the basic needs of everyone on this planet.

Advantages of Solar Water Pump
• No external source of energy like running a grid or fuel is needed
• The recurring cost of fuel and electricity is excluded
• Issues like Low voltage/Single Phase/Motor burning are taken care of
• Can be installed in remote areas where there is no access to electricity or fuel like petrol or diesel
• Low maintenance due to fewer moving parts, unlike diesel pumps.
• No lubrication is needed
